Voicing Climate Justice

Voicing Climate Justice invites young people aged 10–15 in Dhaka and Sylhet to use theatre and visual arts to explore climate change and build youth voice on climate justice issues.

The project is led by researchers at Goldsmiths, University of London and TheatrEX Bangladesh, in partnership with the Centre for Arts and Learning, Goldsmiths, and Friends of Street Children Bangladesh. LEEDO is proud to serve as an implementing partner, connecting the project with street-connected children in Dhaka, alongside rural communities in Sylhet.

Through creative workshops in theatre, photography, and visual arts, young participants will produce collaborative artworks while sharing their perspectives on local and global climate challenges. The research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals on poverty reduction, quality education, reduced inequalities, and climate action, and follows the ethical guidelines of BERA and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The project’s outcomes will include a photography exhibition in Dhaka and further presentations in London, building lasting cultural and environmental connections between communities in Bangladesh and the UK.
