Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic and creative Communications and Media Manager to lead our media
relations, digital presence, and storytelling initiatives. This role is essential for amplifying LEEDO’s mission
and ensuring consistent, impactful messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
● Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and execute a yearly integrated communication
strategy that aligns with LEEDO’s organizational goals and enhances its public image locally and
internationally.
● Media Advocacy & Relations: Act as the primary liaison between LEEDO and the media. Secure
high-value coverage in mainstream newspapers, TV channels, and digital portals. Arrange press
conferences and media visits to project sites.
● Digital Ecosystem Management: Oversee all digital touchpoints (Website, Facebook, LinkedIn,
Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube). Ensure consistent growth in followers and high engagement
rates through data-driven content.
● High-Impact Storytelling: Lead the “Human Interest Story” initiative by documenting the journeys
of street-connected children. Transform complex project data into compelling narratives for
donors and the general public.
● Brand Stewardship: Ensure all organizational materials (reports, banners, letterheads, and digital
posts) strictly adhere to LEEDO’s brand identity, tone of voice, and visual guidelines.
● Multimedia Content Production: Supervise the end-to-end production of high-quality visual
assets, including short documentaries, awareness videos, infographics, and professional
photography from the field.
● Crisis & Reputation Management: Proactively identify potential reputational risks and prepare
“Response Toolkits” to handle sensitive issues regarding child welfare or organizational activities.
● Donor & Stakeholder Communication: Assist the fundraising team by designing high-quality
newsletters, annual reports, and brochures that effectively communicate impact to international
donors and partners.
● Young Journalism & Youth Advocacy: Spearhead the Young Journalist Change Maker project.
Provide technical mentorship to youth groups, helping them develop their own advocacy
platforms and media-based storytelling skills.
● Website Optimization & SEO: Regularly audit and update the website to ensure it remains a “live”
resource. Optimize content for Search Engines (SEO) to increase organic traffic and visibility for
LEEDO’s cause.
● Internal Communication & Capacity Building: Facilitate effective communication flow within the
organization. Train field staff on basic documentation and how to capture quality photos/videos
for the central media cell.
● Analytics & Performance Reporting: Utilize tools like Google Analytics and social media insights
to provide monthly reports on the “Return on Investment” (ROI) of communication activities.
Candidate Profile
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related
discipline.
Experience:
● Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience.
● Experience in the NGO/Development sector is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies:
● Proficiency in Graphic Design (Photoshop/Illustrator/Canva).
○ Strong Photography and Video Editing skills.
○ Sound knowledge of SEO and Social Media Analytics.
● Ability to type fluently in Bangla (Unicode/Avro/Bijoy) and English
● Native-level fluency in Bengali and professional-level proficiency in English.
Soft Skills:
● Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
● A deep commitment to child rights and the ability to work empathetically in field-level
environments.
● Commitment to LEEDO’s mission and values regarding child rights and welfare.
● Ability to work under pressure and meet month-end deadlines.
Employment Status & Benefits
● Salary: Negotiable based on experience and skill set.
● Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM (Should be flexible to work extra hours if required).
